ABOUT: AerialWorks classes are all about skill-building and workouts that are centered on family-friendly fun. We carefully monitor each student's strength level so that they progress through skills at the rate that is appropriate to be safe, yet everyone is guaranteed to be challenged in new ways! We recommend coming in with a growth mindset. :)
The first semester (Aug-Dec), we focus on skill-building, honing aerial techniques and strength. In the second semester (Jan-May), we focus on choreography that builds up to an "end-of-year" show in May.
Intermediate students must be ready to commit to the program for the full year. It is preferred that they take classes 2x/week (sling on Tuesdays and silks on Thursdays), coming to open gym on select Saturdays to make-up classes or for extra practice.
WHERE: We share studio space at Zeal Dance Fitness Studio, located at:
1008 I-25 (South Wilcox Street) Unit B09
Castle Rock, CO 80104

What's the difference between sling and silks?
Sling -- the fabric is in a loop, and you can sit on the loop. We start there, and learn how to move from there.
Silks -- the fabric is hung as two free tails which are hung from rig point to floor. We start by learning how to climb! Silks are harder to start than sling due to this fact.

ABOUT THE OWNER
The owner of AerialWorks is Rebekah Leach, who is a pioneer in the land of aerial! Her numerous books on aerial curriculum have sold all over the world and she is often invited as a guest instructor to aerial studios. She is founder and director of Born to Fly Teacher Training Programs, which is recognized industry-wide as a company that upholds the highest standards for aerial safety and cultivates innovative curriculum. Believe it or not, Rebekah used her previous background as a math teacher and nuclear reactor Naval instructor to design her innovative techniques for aerial! When she is not teaching aerial students, she is teaching aerial teachers! She enjoys mentoring those who are new to teaching and helping everyone find their wings -- whether they are new to the sport/art of aerial, or new to teaching, which she considers a craft in and of itself. |
