DYNAMITE SLING WORKSHOP
Taught by Rebekah Leach
Saturday May 14, 2022
at Madison Circus Space
MADISON, WISCONSIN
6-7pm
$45
Prerequisite: Intermediate-Advanced Sling Practitioner. You must have at least 1 year of experience on sling and can easily invert onto a high sling to get into all the skills for class. Experience with beats is helpful, but we briefly cover the basics as well. The goal of the class is to get a little more dynamic with your sling work.
About this class: In this 1-Hr workshop, we will begin with a grounded warm-up. On the sling, we will do a fly-by of all the major beats: bell beats, pike beats, straddle beats, and scissor beats. This will allow us to touch on flare pathways. We will also apply the beat pathways into various skills to watch how normal pathways suddenly become more accessible and clean through the use of the beats pathways.
About the instructor: Rebekah Leach is the author of over 10 aerial manuals, including 2 volumes of sling books. With a background in math and nuclear physics, it's no surprise that she is incredibly nerdy with her sling skills. She loves to break down things into "base positions" and "pathways," aka "actions." By putting these two powerful things together, you can do anything in aerial land! When not doing aerial, Rebekah is spending time with her two kids and husband in Castle Rock, Colorado.
Class Notes: Please arrive 5 minutes before class to complete a waiver for class. Bring a (closed container) water bottle and wear clothes that cover the backs of your knees. We recommend wearing a shirt that is form-fitting or can be tucked for inverted movement.
This workshop is non-refundable. Please complete payment to secure your spot.
