CASTLE ROCK, CO – April 18, 2016 – Aerial Dance Pioneer and Industry Expert Rebekah Leach is opening a dedicated aerial dance studio in Castle Rock, CO.
Located conveniently next to the I-25 freeway, and up the road from Castle Rock's Vehicle Emissions Testing Station, AerialWorks provides programming that combines the elements of dance, gymnastics, and circus to challenge all fitness levels - from those interested in recreational fun to professional performing. The owner, Rebekah Leach, has been creating curriculum for the aerial industry for the past 10 years. She is the creator of AerialDancing.com, Born to Fly Teacher Training Programs, and has authored 8 books on the art of creating movement with aerial apparatuses. Her vision for AerialWorks is for it to be a laboratory school that supports research and development of strong, sustainable aerial curriculum for the booming aerial industry.
Rebekah is supported by her husband, Matthew, who just got hired to teach physics at Douglas Country High School starting in the Fall. "My husband loves to ski and that is ultimately what brought us, with our two kids, out to Colorado," Rebekah says. "We are so blessed that he got the job at DCHS and that I found this wonderful space to open a studio. I've been waiting for this moment for the past 10 years."
At AerialWorks, dancing in the air is for all ages starting as young as 5. Aerial combines the athleticism of gymnastics with the grace of dance, so you get the best of both worlds. In addition to kids classes, there will also be a class just for high schoolers. Most of the AerialWorks classes are designed for adults. The instructors at AerialWorks claim that you'll walk away after 8 weeks of class with upper body strength you never imagined. Getting a membership to AerialWorks is like getting a membership to a gym, a yoga studio, a Pilates studio, and a dance studio all rolled into one.
AerialWorks will host an OpenWorks Performance Evening twice a semester. Rebekah reflects, "Every performer needs an audience, so we value our audience members just as much as our dancers. We hope you will come for the show even if you never get on stage. And who knows? You might surprise yourself one of these days. Our classes are designed to take anyone from any background and get them flying."
The studio will have a grand opening open house on Saturday, August 6, 2016 from 2-4 pm at 1050 Topeka Way, Castle Rock, CO. Visitors will get to watch demonstrations, tour the space, and register for classes.
